The Health Council produces Four Documents - the County Health Profile, County Health Improvement Plan, Annual Work Plan and Resource Directory - that reflect the county and community and are used by the residents. You may request bound or disk copies of the directories by contacting Yolanda Cruz, Health Council Coordinator at 425-9770 or smhealthcouncil@desertgate.com.
Part of the work of the Health Council includes creating a community profile, which is a picture of the county, and is an excellent research resource for agencies and organizations to utilize for writing grants to increase resources in the county. It is updated every two years and especially after newly released census data becomes available. If you utilize our directory, please give us a call or drop us an email, just to let us know that it is helpful to you.
topFor a complete listing of all the avilable health and social services in the county, the Health Council compiles a resource guide for circulation. The following PDF file is the latest version of the Resource Directory, dated 2008. The new booklet will be published in May, 2009. We make our best effort to capture the most updated and correct information in the directory, if there are errors, or you would like to be in the directory, please contact the Health Council office. We reserve the right to deny printing any information that we feel is not relevant, is offensive, or judgemental/baised and may edit your submission.
topThe Health Council is funded by NM Department of Health, Office of Health Promotion and Community Health Improvement. The City of Las Vegas is our Fiscal Agent. We provide monthly and quarterly reports to the NM Department of Health.
topIn March, 2009, the Health Council began publishing a monthly newsletter on the fourth week of each month. If you have information you would like to submit to for publication in the newsletter or on this website, please contact the Health Council office by the third week of the month.
