Becoming Involved
The San Miguel Health Council meets every forth Tuesday of the month. Meetings are in the Las Vegas City Schools Board Room at 901 Douglas Avenue, Las Vegas, NM. These meetings are opened to the public and if anyone wishes to make a presentation at a meeting, please contact health council coordinator.
Committees meet monthly as well and those schedules are as follows:
Teen Pregnancy – 8 A.M. on every second Tuesday of the month at the Health Council office at 501 S. Grand.
Obesity – 10 A.M. on every fourth Friday of the month at the school-based health clinic at Sierra Vista Elementary at 475 East Legion, Las Vegas, NM.
Interpersonal violence – 4 P.M. on every third Tuesday of the month at the Health Council Office at 501 S. Grand (behind the red caboose).
In addition, the behavioral collaborative called the MSG for Mora, San Miguel and Guadalupe Group meets regularly, but locations change. The schedule and location for the MSG Group is as follows:
Meets every other month on the following schedule: February and August at Mora, April and October at Las Vegas, and June and December at Santa Rosa. For exact locations and times, call Kristy Tapia at 617-5571 or email at www.msg@desertgate.com.
